Despite having to start late, the RI Connie Mack league played ten games from July 1st – August 1st.

On Monday, the state playoffs get underway with the Preliminary Round. Each round is a best two of three series.

Chariho, who finished with an 8-2 record (17 points), ended the season in a tie for first place with Flood Ford by virtue of a 3-1 win over East Providence.

Chariho, who lost earlier in the year to Flood, will be the second seed.

Led by a ten-hit attack, East Greenwich finished in fourth place with a 10-2 win over Tiverton.

Offensively, the Avengers were led by Jack Matus (2/4, one run and one rbi), Conrad Swanson (1/3, two runs scored), Josh Land (1/4, one double, one run and two rbi’s), Parker Hardesky (2/3, one triple, one run and three rbi’s), Max Morton (1/2, one double and two runs scored) and Matt Friedman (1/2, one run scored).

William Klika picked up the win by allowing no runs on two hits, while striking out eleven batters.

Tiverton received hits from Tom Wood, Doug Connors and Devan Pieroni.

Flood Ford, who came into the final game of the season in a three way tie for first place, clinched the top seed of the upcoming state playoffs with a 16-4 win over Warwick PAL.

Flood (8-2; 17 points) finished in a tie for first place with Chariho; they received the top seed because they defeated the Chargers, 2-0, earlier in the season.

Slocum Baseball finished the regular season 6-4 (14 points) with a 4-0 win over defending champion Cranston (7-3; 15. 5 points).
